The International Institute of Technology, Education, and Leadership (IITEL) was invited to participate in the Howard County Innovation Summit, joining leaders from business, government, education, and the technology sector to explore emerging trends shaping the region's innovation ecosystem. The summit took place at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and sponsored by the Howard County Government and County Executive Calvin Ball and his team.

The summit provided an opportunity to engage with organizations working across industries to address the opportunities and challenges created by rapidly evolving technologies, including artificial intelligence. Conversations focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, workforce development, economic competitiveness, and the partnerships needed to prepare communities for the future.

For IITEL, the event reinforced the importance of bringing educational perspectives into broader conversations about technology and innovation. As artificial intelligence continues to influence every sector, educational institutions play a critical role in preparing learners and leaders with the knowledge, judgment, and adaptability needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-enabled world.

Participation in the summit also created opportunities to strengthen relationships with regional partners and identify new avenues for collaboration that connect education, industry, and public service.

The Howard County Innovation Summit reflects IITEL's ongoing commitment to engaging with leaders who are shaping the future of technology, education, and workforce development through collaboration, responsible innovation, and shared learning.

"Innovation is ultimately measured not by the technologies we create, but by the knowledge, opportunities, and positive impact they make possible."

— Dr. Karla Bailey, Founder & Executive Director, IITEL
